Terms and Conditions
Please read this carefully before using The Commoners Club.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Commoners Club ("the platform", "we", "us"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
1. Invite-only access
The Commoners Club is not open for public sign-up. You can only join by using a personal invite link sent by an existing member. Accounts activate immediately on sign-up. We reserve the right to block or delete any account, at our discretion, including for violating these Terms.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your profile reasonably up to date.
- You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Don't create an account on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the platform.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or defraud other members;
- Post illegal, defamatory, or sexually explicit content, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
- Scrape, copy, or resell data or content from the platform, including other members' personal information;
- Use invites to build networks of fake or duplicate accounts;
- Attempt to bypass the network-visibility rules described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Your content
You own the posts, photos, and other content you share. By posting it, you give us a license to store, display, and distribute it to the audience your content is intended for (your network for personal content; the whole platform for business content) — solely for the purpose of operating the platform. We don't sell your content or use it for advertising.
5. Business profiles and queries
Business profiles, business posts, and business queries are visible to everyone on the platform, not just your network, so that you can be discovered professionally. Your personal identity — name, photo, personal profile — is never shown directly to people outside your network; it's only revealed through a connection path showing how you and another member are linked through the invite tree.
6. Events and payments
Some events may have a price or a booking deposit to reserve a spot. Online payment collection isn't live yet — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for how this will work once enabled, including cancellation and refund terms.
7. News content
News shown on the platform is a mix of admin-curated posts and articles pulled in from third-party sources (currently GNews.io). We don't independently verify the accuracy of third-party news content and aren't responsible for it.
8. Suspension and termination
We can block (suspend login, content stays visible to others) or delete (suspend login and hide your content) any account that violates these Terms, at our discretion, with or without notice. You can ask us to deactivate your account at any time — see Contact us.
9. Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is". We don't independently verify members' identities beyond confirming they were invited by an existing member, and we're not responsible for the accuracy of what members post about themselves or their businesses.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Commoners Club isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including content posted by other members or third-party services we rely on (see our Privacy Policy).
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. We'll update the date at the bottom of this page when we do. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
